Hello everyone, I recently purchased a Point of View 8600 gt card with 512mb video ram(DDR2). The one thing I found odd about this was, that the card had a heatsingk. It had no cooling fan. When I googled and saw the pics of POV 8600gt, all the pics had the card with the fan.

So...what's the catch here? How come the card I have doesn't have a fan? Have the manufacturers removed the fan in a bid to cut costs? Or have I just been cheated?

Any input would be appreciated. Thanks!

you have opted for the cheaper model which does not have a fan , obviously to reduce price . there will be no issues performance wise , but you won't be able to overclock the card much in the absence of a cooling fan which is the only drawback for you . if you never planned on overclocking or don't know what it is , then rest easy......

My overclocking days are behind me! If there is no performance deficit, then it's ok by me!
