Asus has a service center in Kolkata. It is on the first floor of Calcutta Boy's school. You can confirm with any of the vendors in Chandni.
I am not very sure about the location since I went to the Zebronics service centre also to get the PSU repaired.
Please post the address for the information of the other members.
My motherboard got fried recently. The service centre will only repair and NOT replace the motherboard. This is not a replacement Warranty. They take 10 to 15 days.
I will not pass any comment on the service as my motherboard could not be repaired because it was an intermittent fault. But the service centre even went out of the way to demonstrate that it has been repaired. But the problem has not been solved. I have given it to them again. I upgraded my motherboard and bought a new one.
BTW there is no Intel service center in Kolkata. You have to send the board to Bangalore and wait. Long procedure. Asus service is better than Intel any day.

here is the address of the asus service centre in kolkata :
72/3 , S.N.Banerjee Road,1-st floor,kol - 14
phone number : 22498887,39501981
they will only collect your faulty m/b and send it to bangalore. no repair or technical work is done here.

Maybe a BIOS fault. Does it generate a series of beeps through the System Speaker while trying to Boot. These Beeps mean a lot & if deciphered properly can give you the signal to what Part is failing. You will have to get hold of the motherboard manual though. Try replacing the motherboard CMOS battery or cleaning the terminals of the battery for a start.

Sorry. I have tried everything. Took the system to Chandni and had a couple of system people try it. Hours and hours spent. Tried in other systems also. The problem seems to be with the VIA chip on the board which gets heated. Asus people refuse to accept that. They demosnstrate that the motherboard is working. But it goes off after sometime when the chip gets heated up. The chip is getting heated up.
Would welcome any volunteer who is willing to try to locate the fault.
After sending it to Asus people three times, and waiting for more than a month in the process, I decided to upgrade and bought a new motherboard. Now another visit to Asus and try to convince them that the board is bad.
BTW I do overclocking.

for my personal experience, i bought asus m2n-mx back in january 2007. After some months, it developed the same problem as yours .so i gave to my computer vendor , he took it to asus service centre ( i bought it via the vendor), they sent it to bangalore, it returned after 3 months and after using for some days the same problem again ! so upon checking my electrical lines earthing fault was discovered and rectified by installing a MCB switch. this time again waiting for 3 months asus people replaced it with an asus m2n-mx se as the previous was out of stock. after 1 and half months the m/b refused to boot. this time i got fed up and bought an asus m2n-vm dvi and assembled it myself. now i am happy to report after 6-7 months it has not shown any problem.

So I am not the only person with such problems. The initial diagnosis was the PSU in my case. Got it repaired. But the service centre guy told me that there is nothing wrong with it.
I took my system to Chandni to the shop of the technical person. Tested every component in other systems and came to the conclusion that it is the motherboard. I will give it again to Asus and get it done. May be I can sell it.
Another thing I have been noticing over the years. The motherboard manufacturers and the chips guys act in collusion. When your chip is about a year old, you do not get a new motherboard for it. It is specially true of AMD. So you have to replace the motherboard and the chip. I switched to Intel because of this. But the new motherboards do not support old P4s. The same is the case with DDR1. So you are forced to upgrade.
And Intel has put a block to overclocking in their chipsets on motherboards.
