IMPORTANT!! CAREFUL WITH DATAONE CONNECTION STARTED IN THE MID OF AMONTH!! a true life story
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

they say at their website you get 2.5GB transfer per month for rs500 in the home500 connection. But they are lying.

this is how they calculate it.
2.5GB is not per month. But for 30 days (though they say its per month in big words in their website)
so average 85MB per day for rs.500

if your connection is established in the mid of month. You wont get 2.5GB
they will give you only the remaining days!!
so 10 days remaining in the month, you get only 850MB! not 2.5GB for that month

complete story at
www.sumeshms.info/

Not true. The 2.5 gb cap is for one month. Could be 30 or 31 days. So if you take the connection oon 1st or any time after that , you have 2.5 gb for the remaining days of that month

I have been using BSNL Data One broadband for about 6 months now. I am on the home 500C plan. I get speeds of around 125-128kbps while downloading most of the time. Earlier I was using Reliance data card which was a piece of crap. But the customer service was much better. Here in BSNL, almost every month so far I have had to visit the AOTR with some issues or the other. Firstly, even after applying for Home500C+ I was put on Home 500C because of which I got ripped off in the first month it self as I was not aware of the download limit of 1.5gb, thought I had upto 2.5 gb. The portal kept showing Home 500c+ all the month. Moreover for 3 months I got billed for broadband as well as the call charges and rental despite being on Home 500 plan. Every month I had to visit the AOTR's office to get the bill rectified and then pay. Finally this madness stopped in the 4th month and a new problem started . for the next 2 months, despite paying my dues on time and in cash their system showed that there was no payment made and my connection used to be disconnected untill I again visited the AOTR and wasted a few hours explaining him that payment was made. Apart from this my modem failed after 3 months and BSNL refused to replace it saying since I had made an outright purchase and not on rent, I had to buy it again. After several letters and visits to the local exchange the modem was replaced. Now the new modem only works on usb and not on ethernet as I later learnt it is a common problem for Nokia Siemens c2110 modems.
I am not sure how long I can keep up with such nonsense. I am already on the look out for an alternative. Sad

no brother....

if you activate the connection in the mid of a month... the usage available is calculated as (remaining days) * (2.5gb)/(number of days in a month)
