Dear Memebers and Guests

Since the forums have grown so much, it has been increasingly taxing on the administration and the members alike to keep this clean while at the same time ensuring everybody get's the information they are looking for.

Many new members and guests have sent me messages stating that they are not able to find the content they are looking for. On the contrary, I / Abhi, would have insisted that the information exists somewhere in the depths of the forum and would have locked up any thread that is repetetive.

As you all can imagine, this is quite a dilemma.

So, in light of this, I have created this new thread which will remain a Sticky in the BSNL DataOne Forum.

Users must post in this thread only after a considerable amout of looking around the forums and only after their threads have been deemed Redundant / Repetetive.

Please be advised that this thread is not for discussions

The purpose of this thread is only to provide links to other threads within the forum that users have failed to find. Members and Non-Members alike are free to help out by pointing out threads to people who can't find the resources they are looking for.

No discussions will be entertained. Any attempt to do so will immediately result in deletion of the posts without intimation.

I hope you will all cooperate
With Regards and Thanks
Anoop

Thanks Anoop for starting this thread. I am sure it will help a lot

There is one thing which always confused me. What is actually using the modem in the bridged mode ? Is it confguring the modem from the interface page 192.168.1.1 or is it using a dialer?
One more thing is RASPPPoE same as using a dialer

now I logged in to 192.168.1.1 to do some port forwarding.when I clicked on to advanced tab,it says 404 not found. It has never happened before.I can't find a thread which deals with this particular problem.

Cyrux, thanks for the support...

Again, No discussions here... just links.

The question you have asked has been repeadedly mentioned at every turn in the BSNL DataOne: Hardware Forum.

Look up threads like: RASPPPoE dialer, Huawei SmartAX MT880 Modem / Router?, MT880 as a bridge etc. You will find it explained there.

Letme explain how this thread works

1) You look around for a thread that deals with your problem.
2) You don't find it and hence create a new thread.
3) The mods lock your thread insisting that the information is available in other threads in the forum.
4) You look for the information again and still can't find it
5) Only after going through steps 1-4 should you post here.

Anoop just add a google search box on this site; since it is in html format though dynamically generated html.

I did it successfully on my site www.eecpworld.com ; so it gives me accurate results ; courtesy google search algorithm .

I doubt if anyone would have trouble searching for information after that unless the content is less than 12 hours old.

Agreed preetsingh... but the problem is, since this is a forum, sometimes the content people are looking for is really old. In such cases it becomes difficult for users to go through several pages of threads. Even the search option tends to become obsolete (more because of lack of patience).

We all try to help, but then you too have to help us by helping yourself a bit too.. after all.. The Lord Helps them who helps themselves.. we show the paths.. if it is not negotiable, then we shall help again and again.. As far as time is concerned.. well we are running a voluntary service (read: free) and our time is as valuable as anyone's else
