For checking Dataone usage, you need not go to any office. Just check any of the usage portals. The total usage shown there only is considered for billing. (And for me, there was no single mismatch with the above total and billed amount since I am on Dataone - from August 2005)

For one who is smart enough to exceed 0.4 GB within a week, it is not at all difficult to check your own usage at least once in a day!!

hi there had a query reagrding my first bill -

i opted for the home 900 plan -
First bill has come for Rs 5000 and they have charged me the following -

adv rental deposit - 1000
NPC insta.charges - 500 = 1500
Security deoposit - 900
modem sale + vat = 1872 = 2772

home plan rental = 841.94

plus call charges for Rs 139

total bill comes out to 5434 after tax and they deducted the intial deposit i had gived of Rs 500 + 18 rs interest.


My question is why have they charged me security deoposit 900 and also advanced rental 1000?

they bsnl franchise told me that they would charge 1m onth advance rental in advance . but what is the security deposit of 900 for ?

can anyone help me in understanding the bill

ARD is towards the Telephone Advance Rental Deposit.

900/- is one month Advance Rent for Unlimited Broadband connection (Plan 900+)

841/- is the plan rental for the month in which you took the broadand connection. It is to adjust your billing period to the 1st of the month. It iw normally (For 900 Plan) 900 X no.of days left in the month in which broadband was installed/Total no. of days in that month.

Telephone advance rental deposit, in the plan i took telephone line was free, no monthly rental for phone line ,and i didnt take any phone instrument from them, they why are they charging me the advance telephone rent deposit, when in my plan there is no monthly phone rental , only boradband 900 per month i have to pay

Though the telephone rental is free you have to pay the advance deposit. No other way.. If you have not taken the telephone, you will get back 250/- You will have to approach the Acctounts Officer. And the Telephone ARD should be 1000/- only. If you have paid any deposit while applying, they have to reduce that also. Contact the Accounts Officer. Your problem will be solved

Perhaps it is better to contact BSNL for the clarification
of the bill ...

Dataone Unlimited 900 has monthly phone rental .
Unlimited 900 plus has no monthly phone rental .

I think INST-BB = BroadBand Installation Charge & BBUSGCHG = BroadBand Usage Charge, probably you have exceeded the 1 GB limit & they charged for extra uses over GB.

PLUS RS.540+54 FOR EXTENDED BRDBAND AND MDM RENTAL WHICH I CAN UNDERSTAND.

THIS BECOME SOME RS. 2847 AND THEY CREDITED RS 1250 FROM THIS AND SEND ME RS 1775 BILL.

NOW ONLY 540+54 I CAN UNDERSTAND
OTHER THINGS I THINK I PAID THEM IN ADVANCE

CAN ANYBODY GUIDE ME ON THIS ISSUE?

Can you explain this. You dont need to pay them nothing. Everything is covered up in the first bill that you get.

Whats this 3875 you paid, whom did you pay and how(cash or cheque/DD)

MONEY I PAID TO BSNL .
THEY ISSUED A DEMAND NOTE. AND I PAID THEM BY CASH.

Can you scan the Demand Note, would like to see the particulars, like what they have raisen the bill for, because AFAIk, you dont have to pay them anything, everything is billed to you on your first bill, even the modem rent(or rate if you opt for outright purchase)

suggest to contact the commercial officer at the Exchange for the exact bill details .
