Dear all...I am facing this problem of attenuation on the higher side..I was using a Huawei MT882 modem where the attenuation would normally be between 23 - 25 db....I recently purchased the ZTE wireless router from the exchange....the attenuation in this router displays values between 31-35 db. Sad ..I tried to change the modes, but still the same...the SNR values are however close to the previous values of 30-35 db..could some one guide me regarding this issue...

With SNR numbers like that (I've experienced single-digit!), and, in the absence of any network problems, I wouldn't worry about the other numbers at all.

I regard this stuff as trouble-shooting territory. When all is working fine, I don't even think about the router status pages!

(well, OK, occasionally, because it is good to have an idea what the "normal" numbers might be)

basically what nick-H said is kindof true. Youshouldnt worry about the numbers if things are going fine. you always risk of "fix it till its broken".

The numbers may be higher bcause of a cheap quality splitter.

I really don't know much at this level --- but my understanding is it is the SNR that is the most important, the ratio of good data to interference. Aggressions's SNRs look pretty... errr... aggressive! Smile
