If u apply for Home UL 900 PLUS, you will get a new rentfree bsnl landline with dataone unlimited connection. However remember there will be security deposits and installation charges for the new line.
BSNL News
Btw, you get to do calls also from the new line apart from dataone usage. So its a good option if you don't have a bsnl line

Does anybody have any additional information on free-of-rent land line exclusively for broadband connection?
What is the Home UL 900 PLUS ** as different from Home UL 900?
www.bsnl.co.in/service...tariff.htm
Does that mean I can have a new landline connection (for exclusive purpose of broadband) free of cost for my new dataone connection? Or is it that it is granted only against the existing landphone connection?

Hi,
I've always wondered how to setup BSNL's Dataone connection on windows 2000
server OS.
In WinXP its done like this:
Open Network Connections, right click Local Area Connections, select
properties, selct TCP IP, put in IP Addresses Selct OK.
Then from network tasks, selct "New Connection", Connect to the Internet,
Setup My Connection Manually, Connect using a Broad band connection that
requires a Username and Password, Give your ISP a Name and fill in your
password and Finalize things.
Problem is; how do you do this in Windows 2000 Server. I just cant find any
of the things to do the above steps. Also you have to provide a phone
number. This is something BSNLdont use.
So just how do you setup Dataone on Windows 2000 Sever?
Pls help.

XP includes the PPoE dialer. I don't think 2000 did, so you will have to get a PPoE Dialer software.
...or configure the modem to connect always, and then just set up tcp/ip with your PC on the same LAN and with the router address as its gateway.

^ Sum Traffic(GB) Excluding Night Unlimited includes
upload + download . It is the total usage excluding the free
usage (2 - 8 AM) for the dataone home 500 & higher plans .
so the bill will be based on this Sum Traffic(GB)
