are you using pppoe mode or using dialer ?

Try resetting to factory defaults and start afresh.

Having quite a wierd problem..

My sent packets are invariably stuck at 42.. however the receiving is perfect..

a few other peculiar behaviours
1-> this happens only when I am trying to browse, my torrent download goes on happily and the sent packets increase as well... theabove mentioned behaviour occurs wen i am browsing only

2-> I was trying to figure out the problem.. and I found that the modem test in 192.198.1.1 fails.. however the ping test succeeds(obviously!!)

3-> this problem plagues me periodically, happens for a few days then dissappears suddenly, only yto appear after a few days!!!

no clue what to do...

Experiencing a real slow speed during Happy Hours (as slow as 25-30 kbps) for the last one week or so.My downloads (using torrents) are going nowhere.But strangely it becomes normal during day time. Is it BSNL shredding the speed !!!
I am on Home 500C+ plan from Kolkata.Anyone from Kolkata experiencing anything like this !!!

what is the ping time during happy hours ?

My connection is intermittent. If I don't use the connection for a while (2-3 min) and then open a new web-page etc, I don't get connected immediately. I have to 2-3 times before I can load the web-page. What could be the problem?

Its usually
"Network Timeout: The server at www.xyz.com is taking too long to respond."
or
"Address not found" (though the address is valid)

When I try 2-3 times, the browser loads the page normally.

saicbit, I don't think I understand your question, but my guess is that you think you can "install" your broadband connection on a machine in another location.

You can't. A broadband connection is an actual physical connection at the exchange; it is only available for lines on whcih it is enabled.

It used to be possible (and this is another thing you might mean) to use your account at a friend's broadband-enabled house instead of theirs: BSNL have been excluding this possibility by binding accounts to telephone numbers, so that your account can only be used on your line.
