Hi all,

Can any one give me help on this issue.

A friend has got home PC with Win XP professional with SP2 + zone alarm firewall. He has Airtel broadband connection at home in INDIA.

It uses modem which assigns IP address. There is no router given.

He wants to access his home PC from his company network. Company does not have much restrctions on outbound traffic.

Is Symantec PC anywhere, Real VNC will be of any help ?

Can anyone tell me which will the best ""SECURE"" way to access home PC from company network ?

Easiest and secure method of accessing machines over the internet is to use services like LogMeIn or GoToMyPC. You can find more details in their respect sites.

Code:

LogMeIn:    http://www.logmein.com
GoToMyPC:   http://www.gotomypc.com

LogMeIn even allows you to access 1 PC without any fee.

Install WWWFileShare Pro and DynaSite.

Register with CJB.NET kinda sites for your URL.

Now that you have done all the above. Run WWWFileShare Pro on your home machine and configure as you want.

Once all done. Type your URL from office or other place. You will get access to your Home PC.

for dynamic dns ... use no-ip.com (it will update ur dynamic ip against a host name.. like say zzz.no-ip.com)

and then use VNC ... vnc has very good documentation its secure its open source

for best and easiest control use windows inbuilt remote desktop connection.
Just enable remote desktop on the PC in my computer properties...and write down the WAN ip.Access ur system thru the WAN ip from anywhere in the world.Full control...like u are sitting in front of ur system.

u shuld use the WAN ip it wuld be like 122.162.xxx.xxx
Find it on WWW.showmyip.com

u will have to forward the ports needed by remote desktop in ur router too.
The port used by remote desktop is 3389 forward it into ur router and here u go....

I also searched for something in this field and found a good and less expensive alternative to logmein - PC File Transfer, works good and stable. A good advantage of this program is its ability to set up an account connection that works behind routers it doesn't allow to block transmission.

Try the below link.

Team viewer is a good and nice tool. I'm using it for a long time. Set a static password and connect from anywhere. Ever from internet explorer.
